Don’t just be driven by price, cheaper lessons do not mean that you will pass your test any quicker, you may take more lessons than you need, and it may well cost you more than if you have had fewer slightly more expensive lessons. What is important is that you must ensure that you get value for money, and pass your driving test in a way which is cost effective, and as soon as you are able to. You are making a commitment to learn to drive. In return I make a commitment that you will learn as quickly as you are able to. You also need to consider the added value that you get from learning with a professional driving instructor. The Theory software that I use allows me to get feedback on your progress and we can then discuss further on lessons to ensure that you progress to test standard as soon as possible..
To keep matters simple, for new drivers who have never driven before, I offer an introductory assessment lesson of 90 minutes for £25.
During this assessment we can discuss the best training schedule for you, you can get behind the wheel of the car and see how it feels, and we can discuss what is best for you. I will show you how we can plan the lessons so that you will benefit from a structured approach to learning to drive, receiving the optimum amount of individually tailored lessons, thus ensuring that you reach test standard as soon as possible, and hence saving you money overall. I will also give you details of the online system that I use to help you progress as quickly as possible.
The cheapest way to learn to drive is to pay for a block of 20 hours. We will agree dates and times for the reserved lessons. They will be put in the diary, and the hourly rate is £22. If you wish to reserve and pay in advance for 15 hours then the hourly rate is £23, and reserving 10 hours, the hourly rate is £24. If you wish to pay as you go, then the hourly rate is £25. You can also take advantage of my 4 hours for £49 offer which uses the first 1.5 hours for your first lesson, and keeps the remaining 2.5 hours on account for the day of your driving test when you will need to have the use of my car for a total of 3 hours.
Do not be fooled by misleading offers, and headline rates giving various free offers. Please read the Instructor's Terms & Conditions to see what they are putting in their small print. All Instructors should give you a copy of their Terms & Conditions on your first lesson with them. This should clearly set out what you can expect from them, and also what they expect from you in return.
I have had pupils say to me that some Instructors turn up for lessons and say, "we'll go for a drive and see what crops up". I don’t, I take time to plan each lesson in advance, so that there is a structured approach to all of my lessons. My lessons can start and finish anywhere within my teaching area covered as long as I know that when the lesson is booked so that I can plan my lessons accordingly.
All Instructors have undergone expensive training, and have overheads that they need to cover in the running of their businesses. If you see a deal that seems to be too good to be true by way of a very cheap hourly rate, the chances are that it is. You may be paying a cheaper hourly rate, but you may find that you will have more lessons before you are able to take your test. It is better to keep with your Instructor than changing and swapping because you think that you’ve found a cheaper deal elsewhere. In the end you will pass your practical driving test in a shorter period of time, and at a lower overall cost to you.
Please use the contact me function and I'll give you a call and we can have a chat.
